EELCEE AB

Unique composite technology

EELCEE AB is a spin-off from Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) that plans to develop, manufacture and market large volumes of composite components, primarily for the automotive industry. Through a directed new share issue, Fouriertransform has invested SEK 50 million in the Swedish parent company EELCEE AB. The issue will make it the largest individual owner together with the company’s founder Professor Jan-Anders Månson. Månson has conducted research and development of composite materials at EPFL since 1990 with a focus on making high-volume manufacturing possible in, for example, the automotive industry.

At the time of Fouriertransform’s investment, EELCEE AB was ready to commercialise its products and had its first production contract. Fouriertransform’s investment will enable the company to meet the expectations of its customers with respect to development projects by building up the prototype and production capacity in Sweden that the customers demand.

The products in brief

Composite materials represent an important area in the automotive industry in efforts to reduce weight, which is essential for the long-term reduction of emission levels. Traditionally, however, composites are relatively expensive. EELCEE’s patented technology is unique in the world because it offers shorter life cycles and makes it possible to manufacture high volumes at competitive cost levels.
